How to stretch free AI video credits

To stretch free credits, draft every shot on the cheapest model at the shortest length, batch similar prompts, and upgrade only the takes you'll keep. On Google Flow, the free 50 daily credits cover about 5 Veo 3.1 Lite clips. Use them every day, because they don't roll over.

Stretch free credits: the 3-pass method

  1. Pass 1: script on paper (0 credits). Write every shot as one line using the shot formula. Cut any shot you wouldn't use.
  2. Pass 2: test on the cheapest model. Use Veo 3.1 Lite in Flow (10 credits) at the shortest length. In Flow, one request can make 2 videos, so count credits per generation.
  3. Batch similar prompts. Run all shots with the same setting and light together, so you can fix problems once and reuse the working wording.
  4. Pass 3: upgrade only the keepers. Re-run or extend only the takes you'll use. Don't upgrade a shot that's still wrong in the draft.
  5. Time it right. On free Flow, avoid about 2–5 PM UTC (6–9 PM Dubai), when video can be blocked. Use the daily 50 every day, because unused credits expire.
  6. Spend expiring credits first. Hailuo's welcome credits expire after 3 days. Runway's free 125 never expire, so save them for the edit you need Runway for.
  7. Finish in a free editor. Add captions, music and text in CapCut's free editor, not in the prompt. Text in prompts often comes out garbled and costs re-rolls.

FAQ

How many free AI videos can I make a day?

On Google Flow, about 5 Veo 3.1 Lite generations a day from the free 50 credits (10 each), or 2 on Fast (20 each). Free daily credits don't roll over.

Is 720p first a good way to save credits?

Yes, where price depends on resolution. On CapCut, the same credits give about 2.5× more seconds at 480p than at 720p with Seedance 2.0 Mini. On Flow, cost depends on the model (Lite, Fast or Quality), so pick Lite to save credits.

Do free credits expire?

Flow's daily credits expire at the end of the day. Hailuo's welcome credits expire 3 days after they're granted. Runway's 125 free credits don't expire.

Which free tool has the most credits?

Google Flow, because the 50 credits come back every day. Runway's 125 are one time only, and Pika's free plan has no monthly credits.
